Chapter One

I am born.

Okay, let's not go that far back.

I am the author of FLASH BURNOUT, a young adult novel published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

I find it boring to talk about myself, so I’ve included lots of links to other stuff – writing tips, author interviews, favorite books and movies, and fun places to visit in Oregon. But I realize I have to tell you something, so here are the basics: I live in Portland with my husband, son, and two big black dogs. When I’m not reading or writing, I like to travel, ride my bike, practice tae kwon do, and take photos.
